The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston area. Founded in 1960 as the Boston Patriots, they have won six Super Bowls (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, LIII) under head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady.
