The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 1946 as an All-America Football Conference team, they joined the NFL in 1950. The 49ers have won five Super Bowls (XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV, XXIX) and are known for their innovative West Coast offense and recent strong teams. They play at Levi's Stadium.
