The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves, they have won five NFL championships, including three Super Bowls (XVII, XXII, XXVI). After a period of rebranding (previously Redskins), they play at Northwest Stadium and remain one of the most historic franchises in the NFL.
